Sameh Wahba leads the World Bank’s Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land Global Practice, which covers territorial development, geospatial, and results-based-financing issues, has a portfolio of close to $30 billion in commitments in investment projects, program-for-results, and development policy lending, and about 450 staff. He holds a PhD in urban planning from Harvard University and has 25 years of experience in urban development, land, housing, disaster risk management, infrastructure and sustainable development. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Cities Council and sits on the boards for Cities Alliance, Resilient Cities Network and the WRI Ross Center for Cities.
