Biography

Richard Sennett is an Honorary Professor at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose and the Bartlett School of Architecture, and a Senior Fellow at the Center on Capitalism and Society at Columbia University. Previously, he founded the New York Institute for the Humanities and served as President of the American Council on Work. Sennett’s work focuses on social life in cities, changes in labour, and social theory. Sennett has received multiple awards including the Hegel Prize, the Spinoza Prize, and the Centennial Medal from Harvard University.
