Mennatullah Hendawy is an interdisciplinary urban planner working on the intersection of cities and technology towards sustainable urbanism.
Hendawy is co-founder of Cairo Urban AI, a project exploring the potential of using artificial intelligence to develop just and sustainable cities. She received her PhD in 2021 from the faculty of Planning Building Environment at TU Berlin and an MSc in Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design from Stuttgart University.
Hendawy holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo (class 2012).
Earlier she was a fellow at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, USA, Orient Institut Beirut, the European New School of Digital Studies at the European University Viadrina in Brandenburg, Germany.
