Huma Haq
Public Services International (PSI) | Social Care Organiser
Huma Haq is Social Care Organiser at Public Services International (PSI), the global union representing 30 million public sector workers in 150 countries. Her role involves building public service unions’ capacity to organise and campaign in the care sector around the globe, as well as representing care workers to global institutions. Prior to working at PSI, Huma worked as a Public Affairs Adviser at the Royal College of Nursing in the UK, a Political Adviser for the UK Labour Party and as an Assistant Desk Officer in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. She holds a MSc from Birkbeck, University of London in International Development. Huma’s areas of expertise include: labour and trade union rights; equitable access to quality social care services; public funding for care services and social security; local care services systems; digitalisation and social care services; and covid recovery.
