Fatma Şahin

Fatma Şahin is the Mayor of Gaziantep and President of the Union of Municipalities of Turkey. Şahin has taken a leading role in international city networks, serving as President of the Middle East and Western Asia division of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG-MEWA), and President of the Asian Mayors Forum (AMF). In 2001, Şahin became the Gaziantep Provincial Founding Member of the Justice and Development Party, and during her tenure, she became chairman of Morals and Decency Murders Commission and Research Commission of Violence against Children.
