Local actions to future-proof cities and communities

About

The Malaysian Urban Forum (MUF) is a national-level forum that aims to promote inclusive debates and discussions towards developing and improving our sustainable urbanization strategies, policies, and programs.

The Forum is an inclusive platform for all stakeholders to come and participate, discuss and share thoughts, views, ideas, and solutions to address the many challenges urbanization has brought upon us.

The forum is in line with UN-Habitat’s National Urban Forum framework that promotes inclusive discussions towards improving Malaysia’s urbanization strategies, policies, programs, and actions and includes the participation of local, regional, and national governments as well as stakeholders that support sustainable urban agenda.

The Malaysia Urban Forum 2022 will take place from 16-18 October 2022 in MBSA Convention Centre, Shah Alam, Malaysia.

Malaysia Urban Forum 2022 (MUF2022) calls for local actions to ensure urban transformation proceeds in a sustainable way that requires concrete steps and actions at both national and local levels. Stronger multilateral partnerships are critical, where governments, industries, businesses, professionals, academia, and the communities identify real, tangible, and actionable goals, and take actions to drive them forward to respond to the crises in future-proofing our cities and communities.

Hence our focus this year is LOCAL ACTIONS TO FUTURE-PROOF CITIES AND COMMUNITIES.
