Summary

Participants will get comprehensive knowledge and skills for implementing viable and sustainable onsite sanitation technologies which are the practical alternatives for cities with limited budget and water access. Advantages and limitations of septic tank, VIP toilet, twin pit pour-flush composting toilet, community and public toilet facilities with biogas technology and decentralized wastewater treatment system (DEWATS) would be discussed in detail. Knowhow to plan for their respective cities.

Objectives

1. Gain knowledge of Planning appropriate, affordable, viable and sustainable onsite sanitation system for their respective cities. Interactive planning with all stakeholders preferred along with awareness generation.

2. Learn Execution including site characteristics, designing, drawing, costing, implementation, quality control.

3. Impact assessment, feedback and documentation and future planning for wider implementation and changing with new technology development.
