Summary

Local administration is a key actor in economic development in cities, able to promote unique benefits and deal with obstacles for local businesses. LED is integrated into strategic regional planning, institutional development and local development programs. In this training event, the Ministry of Local development showcases a full-fledged training course on LED that demonstrates LED approaches and tools using examples, success stories and and lessons learnt from the Egyptian experience.

Objectives

•Understanding within a decentralized system, the balanced roles in LED and investment promotion between central and local actors.
•Gaining knowledge on LED good practices piloted in Egypt including strategic and investment planning, private sector engagement and business models for LED facilities.
•Get participants acquainted with the full-fledged LED training course that could be provided in Egypt by the Ministry of Local Development and explore potential opportunities global cooperation.
