The Pan African Action Plan for Active Mobility (PAAPAM) was developed as a comprehensive framework to guide governments and other stakeholders on the priority actions to be implemented over the next ten years to ensure healthy, safe, equitable and sustainable transport for the majority – people who walk and cycle. Having had the participation of relevant stakeholders from all the regions of Africa, we seek to launch this all important document during the 12th World Urban Forum. The Launch will draw key players in the urban mobility sector in Africa and provide the opportunity to share the content will participants towards implementation
Objectives of the program includes that
a. the PAAPAM will be presented to the wider African audience at the Launch
b. the launch will pave the way for strategic engagement with the right walking and cycling audience with a view to facilitating the next phase of the project which is capacity building towards implementation across the sub-regions of Africa
c. the Launch will add the PAAPAM document into qualitative list of sustainable urban transport implementable resource for the wider African audience from the WUF platform
