Summary

This training event is for city representatives and non-governmental organizations that advise and accompany cities in their food systems work. You will learn how to apply the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus approach to address resource constraint challenges, and how to develop outcome-driven indicators to focus minds on priorities, desired outcomes, and how to achieve them.

Objectives

By the end of the training event, participants will:
i) be informed and inspired by practical initiatives in Nairobi and Cape Town;
ii) have the opportunity to consider and discuss how the water-energy-food nexus approach might be helpful (or put to better use) in their own cities;
iii) experience for themselves the process of identifying possible indicators that would support action to increase food system resilience from a WEF perspective.
