Summary

Urbanisation is a global phenomenon that presents both opportunities and challenges for cities around the world. As cities continue to grow, urban justice issues are becoming increasingly important. Urban justice encompasses a wide range of issues, including social, economic and environmental dimensions, and is crucial to creating inclusive, equitable and sustainable cities.

More than half of the world's population lives in cities and this number is likely to increase to more than two-thirds by 2030. Cities consume a large share of the world's energy supply and are responsible for about 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Energy-derived greenhouse effect, which absorbs heat and causes global warming. Cities in developing countries also face barriers to accessing climate finance, including a lack of attention to cities as a strategic priority.

Objectives

1.- Highlight the need for common principles in legislation to achieve urban climate justice through the recognition and development of human rights, with a systemic and inclusive approach to equitable access to basic services: This theme will explore strategies to ensure equitable access to essential services such as housing, water, sanitation, health care, education and transport for all urban residents, with special attention to marginalized and vulnerable communities.

2.- Enhancing social inclusion and participatory governance: This theme will elaborate on approaches to foster social inclusion and participatory governance, empowering marginalized groups by ensuring their meaningful participation in decision-making processes related to urban planning, policy formulation and service delivery.
3.- Strengthening urban safety: This theme will focus on strategies to improve urban safety, including crime prevention, disaster risk reduction and the provision of safe public spaces, ensuring the well-being and saf
