Summary

This event will present the innovations of the inter-agency project “Inclusive Cities, Communities of Solidarity” that has been developed in six countries and nine cities in Latin America and the Caribbean to effectively integrate refugees, migrants and host communities within the territories.

Objectives

- Share with other stakeholders the lessons learned of the coordinated action between IOM, UN-Habitat and UNHCR with the support of the European Union in the project “Inclusive Cities, Communities of Solidarity”.

- Present the innovations of the ICCS project to provide medium-long term tools and solutions to integrate refugees and migrants in Latin-American cities.

- Have a mayor’s dialogue to present some experiences of cities in Latin America to integrate refugees and migrants and to discuss about main challenges and opportunities for integration.
